Hello!!! It is our last Wednesday of therapy. We said goodbye to two of our awesome supervisors this morning. :( Because we had less supervision our groups merged today. In Haven 2 we each had three or four kids to one adult!!! It was fabulous!!! The kids participated in everything we did and even lead songs they wanted to sing. Haven 3 and 1 followed suit. It seems like the bulk of the sickness has gone away and all the babies were in a good mood. This afternoon we had free choice on either language, feeding, or both. Haven 2 went to the playground as usual - today they got a new play house!! Haven 1 received a new baby today! (He is 10 days out and soooooo very cute!) Tomorrow we are headed to a place called 7 Fountains (a smaller orphanage nearby) to do some assessments and evaluations.
Some updates:
Joelo - stood by himself today - holding on to the windowsill of the playhouse
Raymond - IS BACK FROM THE HOSPITAL AND LOOKING GREAT!
Lushimo - rolled prone to supine AND supine to prone
Answers to some of the questions:
Shelbey - We have 4 to 5 good language samples total with the ages ranging from 3-8
We are getting around 45 hours of child language and about 45 hours of pediatric dysphagia.

Is that 4-5 language samples total? Or are there more that need to be translated? Not sure if I was reading that right or not?
ReplyDeleteGreat to hear that the babies are feeling better!
Great to hear that the babies participated today and that everyone is feeling better! Looks like you all are getting some great child language and pediatric dysphagia hours!! Good luck with your evaluations at 7 Fountains tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad that the babies are not getting sick as much and that you got so many hours. It's wonderful that you could make such a difference.
ReplyDeleteWow! Sounds like you all have gotten a lot of great experience and clock hours. Also, so happy to hear that the babies are feeling better. Looking forward to hearing about your experience at 7 Fountains tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteThat's great that you're each getting so many pediatric language and swallowing hours! Even more than the hours, I'm sure the experience is very rewarding.
